Deb has always been interested in writing, but while studying at Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa she felt that the Lord was actually calling her to write for Christian publication as well as calling her to missions.
Deb graduated in 1978 and married Art Brammer. They have served with Baptist Mid Missions since 1979, in Taiwan for 16 years and New Zealand for 13 years.
Deb had her first article accepted for publication in 1979 and has been writing for Christian publication ever since. She has had four fiction books published by Bob Jones University Press. Peanut Butter Friends in a Chop Suey World has been printed six times and used widely to prepare missionary kids for the mission field. One of her books has been published under a pseudonym due to the sensitive nature of the book.
Besides her fiction books and over 100 articles, Deb has published an ESL Bible study book and several Christmas programs. She offers many ESL Bible lessons, program material and puppet scripts from her writing website. Much of what Deb writes comes from her personal ministry as a missionary. She also offers many writing articles to help mentor aspiring Christian writers.
Deb has two married daughters, a grandson, and two granddogs. She serves as a missionary pastor’s wife to Tay Street Baptist Church in Invercargill, New Zealand. Her greatest desire, whether sizzling sausages for young people or writing stories, is to bring honor to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
